From San José, Costa Rica, Adiós Cometa creates a melodious, introspective, and passionate sound through heavy reverb, chorus, and delay, connecting the dots often blurred between shoegaze, dream-pop, and post-rock.
With three vocalists and an inclination toward experimentation, Adiós Cometa has solidified a unique identity within the Latin American alternative scene, building an emotional narrative between nostalgia, noise, and melodic exploration that has earned them recognition in media outlets like Remezcla and increasingly influential regional venues.
Since their formation in 2019, their sonic versatility has allowed them to share stages with a diverse range of artists including Nothing (US), Soft Kill (US), El Mató A Un Policía Motorizado (ARG), Depresión Sonora (ES), El Último Vecino (ES), Porter (MX), Los Blenders (MX), Asimov (GT), and No Somos Marineros (MX). Additionally, they have performed at venues throughout México and Guatemala.
The second half of 2025 shapes up as a key period for the band: before the release of their new album in January 2026, they will share the stage with international heavy-hitters like This Will Destroy You and Soviet Soviet. They will also return to Mexico City to perform at Festival Brillante.
The band continues to solidify themselves as one of the key references of Latin American shoegaze as they prepare their next studio album.
