Limited Edition White Shell Cassette
Steadfast Records proudly presents Brandtson’s landmark 2004 album, Send Us A Signal, on cassette.
Originally released on The Militia Group, this was the Cleveland emo quartet’s breakthrough moment and their first album recorded with extended studio time and budget. Produced by Ed Rose (The Get Up Kids, Coalesce) at Black Lodge Recording in Kansas, the album showcased Brandtson at their creative peak. They balanced raw emotional intensity with a melodic sophistication that earned well-deserved comparisons to Jimmy Eat World, The Get Up Kids, and Sense Field.
Founding members Myk Porter, Matt Traxler, Jon Finn (FKA John Sayre), and Jared Jolley delivered their most diverse and powerful work yet, featuring crunchy guitar-driven anthems, heartfelt ballads, and the band’s signature dual-vocal harmonies. This expanded edition features a special 13th bonus track, “Little Birds & Spiders,” which was left off the original 2004 release. Other standout tracks include the explosive opener “Who Are You Now?”, the emotionally devastating “Drawing A Line In The Sand,” the re-recorded classic “Blindspot” with its haunting violin intro, and the pop-leaning highlights “Margot” and “Over and Out.”
Critics praised the album for its instantaneous appeal and newfound sonic diversity. Songs like “Mercy Medical” and “C’mon Fascista” demonstrated the band’s seamless ability to shift between delicate verses and massive, heavy choruses. Despite consistent critical acclaim and a devoted international following built through relentless touring, Brandtson remained one of the genre’s best-kept secrets, perpetually on the fringes while peers achieved mainstream success.
Formed in 1996, Brandtson released defining records on Steadfast, Deep Elm, and The Militia Group before ultimately disbanding in 2006. This package includesa full-color 24-page zine featuring a brand new band interview and exclusive member commentary on every single track.
