Identikit is the second and final studio album by Burning Airlines, released in 2001, and further refines the band’s sharp, forward-thinking post-hardcore sound. Led by J. Robbins (Jawbox) and featuring members with backgrounds in Report Suspicious Activity, Kerosene 454 and Government Issue, the band builds on the foundation established with their debut while pushing into more expansive and nuanced territory.
On Identikit, originally released in 2001 by DeSoto Records, showcases tightly constructed songs driven by complex rhythms, angular yet melodic guitar work, and controlled intensity. Compared to Mission Control!, the album places greater emphasis on atmosphere and dynamic variation, without losing focus or impact. Robbins’ distinctive vocal delivery remains central, adding urgency and clarity throughout.
